Alkor will tell you to come back later once he is done making a potion. In return, Meshif will give you the Golden Bird, which you then take to the alchemist, Alkor. When you find the Jade Figurine, head back to Kurast and show the figurine to Cain, then to Meshif. This first quest isn’t given by any of the NPCs in the city, but is activated one you find and defeat the first unique monster in the act – as Diablo II randomly generates each game, this could be anywhere! This first unique monster will drop a Jade Figurine, which is the quest trigger. The quests are as follows: Act III Quest One: The Golden Bird The six quests in Act III take place in the jungles and swamps which surround the city of Kurast. They can, however, be taken on to gain experience and equipment with which to improve a player’s character in the game. The quests in Act III of Diablo are similar to those in Act I, in that most are not mandatory, and so do not require to be completed in order to progress in the game although players playing the game as a solo character will need to complete the third quest – Khalim’s Will – and the fifth quest, The Blackened Temple. Your character should be around 20th level when they commence Act III of the game. This third act also culminates in a showdown with the first of the Prime Evils: Mephisto. In this act, the player has to navigate their way through six more quests, in their search for the Durance of Hate.
The Gidbinn on the ground after taking out the Unique Flayer.The jungle city of Kurast sets the scene for Act III of Diablo 2. Ormus is the final person you have to speak with to complete the quest. He'll send you to Asheara next who will let you hire an Iron Wolf for free and tell you to go speak to Ormus one more time who will give you a Rare ring for completing the quest. Once you've obtained The Gidbinn return to town and speak with Ormus.
Something worth noting too is that the Gidbinn altar is always nearby the Flayer Dungeon which is part of Act 3 Quest 2: Khalim's Will. As you can see it has its own unique marking that appears when you get in the general area of it. You can easily locate the Gidbinn altar by looking at your map, in the screenshot below I circle what the Gidbinn altar looks like on the map.
A unique Flayer will spawn that drops the Gidbinn when you defeat it. For this quest all you need to do is head over to the Gidbinn altar in the Flayer Jungle and inspect it. The Blade of the Old Religion quest begins when you enter the Flayer Jungle or shortly after completing Act 3 Quest 1: The Golden Bird. Reward: Free Iron Wolf (Merc Hire) and a Rare ring from Ormus Quest Goal: Obtain The Gidbinn and return it to Ormus Act 3 Quest 2: Blade of the Old Religion - Diablo 2
